1. Happo-ike Pond

2. Nachi Falls

Being the tallest waterfall of the country, this 133 m high peak can be viewed even on the Pacific Ocean. The waterfall lies in the vicinity of shrines, temples and pagodas. The falls which were initially a sacred ground leave every tourist in astonishment. A sacred shrine located nearby also visited a lot.

3. ZaoOnsen Ski Resort

The ZaoOnsen Ski Resort is the most popular ski places in Japan, catering to professionals, beginners, and kids alike! Situated among six mountain peaks, the resorts can be accessed through three cable cars. The most distinguishing feature of Zao is the phenomenal ‘Snow Monsters’. These monsters are hardened ice on fir trees because of the wind action. It is an overwhelming experience to ski through these monsters. The Zao village is based at the foot of the ski area and since it is not purpose built, you can still experience the charms of the traditional village of Japan.

4. Matsumoto Castle

Among the original castles of the country, Matsumoto wins the show. Rather than being built on a mountain or a hill, the castle is based on a plain. This treasured castle of Japan holds a history of nearly 400 years. It is also commonly known as the ‘Crow Castle’ because of the classic black walls. The wooden windows of the castle provide an amazing view to the Alps of Japan. The castle stands out in April when it is surrounded by cherry blossom all over.

5. Ueno Park

The parks of Japan are the most scenic since the country is a land of natural beauty. There are many of them that can be savored for their timeless beauty, relaxing ambiance and wonderful surroundings. Among these, the Ueno Park is a must to visit. Initially famous for the temple of Kaneji, the park is a popular tourist destination for being home to the first zoo of the country as well as several interesting museums. The park is adored for the best cherry blossom sighting.
