How often do you play The Legend of Zelda? Did you know that there’s a shrine in Breath of the Wild, located on an island in Lake Hylia, called Daqo Chisay Shrine. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to find it and what to expect when you get there. First, make sure you have the Magnesis Rune and the Paraglider in your inventory before leaving Kakariko Village, then head towards the Lakeside Stable and talk to Flyer outside his house to take flight.

How to get there:

Getting to Zelda Daqo Chisay Shrine can be a bit of a challenge for first-timers. When you look at your map, it’s not that far from Lon Lon Ranch or Kakariko Village. If you head there directly from Lon Ranch, you’ll run into an area called Fado’s Navel. It’s completely optional and contains some formidable enemies, but you can’t see anything interesting from your map yet. So when people visit Daqo Chisay Shrine, they often wander in circles. There are several different ways, but all take a bit of time: walking around back towards Kakariko village is very scenic and easy until you’re almost out of stamina. You can walk through Kakariko Village itself, which has hidden points of interest.

What to expect when you arrive?

Upon arrival, the first thing you’ll notice is that it is beautiful – some would say one of Japan’s most beautiful shrines (although it lacks a gate). Its relative simplicity makes it feel even more serene than more elaborate shrines. If you visit on your own, as many tourists do, be sure to take some time to wander around and enjoy its beauty before moving on. Even if you are not religious, you will find yourself feeling oddly compelled to bow towards some regions of the grounds.

This is common among people visiting daqo chisay shrine for non-religious reasons; try not to fight it. It seems silly at first, but much can say about getting into the zone at these sorts of places. This is also where an unofficial daqo chisay shrine guide comes in handy: no matter how familiar you may be with Japanese culture, there is almost always something new to learn from these books.

Finding The Daqo Chisay Shrine:

The first thing you need to do is find the shrine. Although the shrines aren’t initially marked on your map, you have to explore Hyrule to find them. In any case, it’s easy to find the daqo shrine as it’s located right next to the entrance to Gerudo Town. There’s no way you can miss the shrine on your playthrough, so even if it is hard to find, it’s still an easy task to complete. To get to Gerudo Town, go southwest from the Gerudo Canyon Stable, in the Wasteland Region of the map.

Crossing Gerudo Desert:

If you’re crossing the desert during the day, you need to have some sun-resistant gear or heat resistant food. However, you’ll need cold resistance gear or food when you’re travelling at night. Without something to fight the elements, be sure to pick up the appropriate supplies or cook some meals with resistance. Once you arrive at the entrance to Gerudo Desert, you’ll find the trip difficult, even with a horse. Fortunately, you’ll only need to take one of the four paths marked on your map to get to Gerudo Town. If you keep going on the path, you’ll soon come across the Kara Kara Bazaar. It’s a refreshing oasis of rest or restocking just halfway to Gerudo Town.

The Whole Picture:

After entering the whole picture shrine, the first thing you’ll notice is a large, glowing green crystal that looks as if it’s buzzing with electricity. Throughout the rest of the room, you’ll see lines on the ground as well, but none of them will be lit up just yet. This whole shrine is dedicated to linking together the fragments with your Magnesis Rune to complete the circuit and get to your Spirit Orb.

Focus On The Left Side:

Focus on the left-hand side of the room when you enter, where you’ll find a giant metal cube and a metal barrel. Check the circuit lines and find the one that leads to the gate alcove on the far left. To open the gate, use Magnesis to arrange the cubes. And barrels to align with the gaps in the circuit and make their way to the opposite side.

Moving Everything To The Other Side:

Alright, that’s the left side of the shrine finished. To move everything to the right side, first, use Magnesis on the chest. Don’t worry if you don’t want to carry the chest; you can also put a weapon. Then, from inside South Akkala Stable, go north and climb up onto a platform. Activate your Cryonisis rune and create an ice pillar on the western edge of that platform.

Get The Second Metal Cube:

Put the chest and two barrels in the gaps between the dots on the right side of the room, then place the large metal cube between the two platforms that you put against the wall. Noticing this will keep the electricity flowing and unlock the doors on the other side of the room, where you’ll find another large metal cube. You don’t need the barrels or the treasure chest anymore so that you can ignore them.

Move Metal Cubes To The Sides:

First, use Magnesis to pick up the two large metal cubes and move them over to the centre steps. Put one of the metal cubes on the cluster of circuit-covered dots to the right of the staircase. And put the other metal cube on the collection of beads to the left of the stairs. This will reveal the final gate in the daqo chisay shrine walkthrough. By completing all four shrines in each district, you’ll earn a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel (once per day). In addition, you’ll also unlock an additional Ancient Hidden Skill for your Sheikah Slate after completing all four shrines in a single district.

The Final Gate Opens:

Complete the botw daqo chisay shrine and then make your way up the central staircase. Speak with Daqo Chisay to claim your Spirit Orb. Then speak with him again; he’ll tell you he’s ready for another challenge—one that tests all of your skills. He will then open a gateway to his secret chamber. However, even if you haven’t yet cleared enough shrines in total, he won’t let you proceed further into his lair until you have found at least forty-nine more spirit orbs and filled out your map of Hyrule. This time, however, don’t expect an easy fight! His arena is one of great peril.
